A great team from St Matthews attended the Merton School Sports Partnership hockey tournament at Kings College Sports Ground on Friday 16th November. 

6 matches were played in all with a 2:2 draw in the first match versus Sacred Heart, followed by a day of  3 wins v Holy Trinity, Wimbledon Chase and Poplar and some narrow defeats against Bishop Gilpin and Dundonald.

All of the St Matthews team played with great gusto, enthusiasm and superb team work. There was simply amazing stick work from Harrison and all round defence and attacking play from all. 

After the pool stage, St Matthews lay 5th out of 16 in the competition and after the quarters, semis and finals St Matthews remained a proud 5th out of the 16 teams that took part. Bishop Gilpin were victorious at the end of play. 

A fantastic achievement and effort from all involved, including top notch support from parents.
